PLEASE NOTE- the first image is the garment that is available.
The following images are displayed to give reference to the particular shibori design employed and give context to the garment style, craftsmanship and beauty that defines Suzusan.
100% CASHMERE KNIT SCARF | BLACK & LIGHT COFFEE
This genderless scarf measures a luxurious 80 X 200 cm and is made from the finest long staple cashmere sourced from Northern Mongolia-the true home of cashmere. It is shipped to Osaka to be processed, then knitted in Arimatsu Japan.
Seamless zero waste knit techniques are used to honour the purity and quality of the yarn. The garments are then exposed to the shibori design and dye process by skilled craftsmen and women that have been practising shibori for generations.
ITAJIME SHIBORI- involves techniques that include folding and clamping to resist the dye resulting in linear and geometrically inspired designs.
The shibori craft design is applied to each Suzusan garment one at a time. For this reason each garment is one of a kind and variations to the pattern and dye placement will occur. These inherent irregularities are what make these pieces so unique and special.
