Learn embroidery stitches suited to mending and reinforcement techniques
Create a sampler as reference while taking part in a led discussion about the ‘meaning & symbolism’ of mending
Commence a project or 2 of your own or continue practising and sampling with all materials provided
Explore and create new ways of bringing value to your time worn items including unconventional alterations

Join me at the large work table in my shop with a small group of like minded textile and hand craft enthusiasts for a day of stitching, mending and creating with access to beautiful threads, fabrics and support. We will commence with a brief discussion about the significance and purpose to the practice of mending and the various ways we can approach each project remembering that there are no right or wrong ways and no mistakes.

With this approach I am confident you will gain your own momentum and rhythm to continue textile mending beyond this workshop. You will achieve sampling skills and the pleasure of repetition and have the opportunity to apply these skills to a small project as well as plan out and commence a mending task. I encourage you to bring along a garment or textile requiring a mend or reinforcement that has meaning to you or someone else. It could be a favourite pair of jeans, an heirloom tablecloth or any woven textile item.
