100 LADIES | WHITE DESIGN 1
Introducing 100 neesan, which translates from Japanese to 100 'ladies' or 'sisters', pre printed on white cotton cloth. This charming new embroidery craft is a collaboration between textile designer Kazue Nakajima and Lecien Haberdashery Japan.
The cut cloth measures approximately 40 x 52 cm and the little ladies are about 6 cm tall.
Enjoy bringing these sweet silhouettes to life with embroidery stitches of your choice adding any embellishments you choose. These are so enjoyable to stitch because there are no rules and they are a lovely form of free crafting.
I found it to be like colouring in with cotton. In addition to simply enjoying the time spent stitching there a so many possibilities to explore with your finished 'neesan'.
An embroidery needle is best for this project and stranded embroidery threads are well suited. You can also explore with metallic and silk threads.
Sashiko and Kogin threads are a bit bulky but could be used if that is the effect you want, remembering sashiko cotton is not spun for separating into strands like embroidery floss.
The instructions in this package are only in Japanese but the diagrams are very helpful prompts and with some basic embroidery knowledge you will be stitching before you know it.
There are 6 different designs available on varying cloth shades of white, pale grey and smoky blue. Each lay out of ladies is slightly different-they are all fun to do!
PLEASE NOTE THIS PURCHASE IS 100 PRE PRINTED LADIES ONLY AND DOES NOT INCLUDE NEEDLES OR THREADS.
